August West Festival
August 12,2023
12-5 on the green in Jay
Sponsor- Jay Peak Resort
FREE EVENT
There’s a lot going on at Jay Peak this summer surrounding the Grateful Dead. Frankly, there’s a lot of Grateful Deady stuff going on all over these days. Far from a brandwagon thing, celebrating what the Dead have done for music and community is really what it’s all about.
The August West Festival aims to highlight both the music and community aspects of the Grateful Dead. The blues, gritty rock, and long improvisational jams bring a little something for everyone, even if you just gotta poke around. Now in its 19th year, August West has definitely grown in size a bit, but so has our community of supporters in the Jay Peak area.
Spend the day enjoying life together – kids and well-mannered dogs are welcome. There’s lots of good food and drink, and plenty to do and dance to.
Details:
- Saturday, August 12th on The Green in the Town of Jay, next to Jay Country Store. Note, this is the day before Joe Russo’s Almost Dead at the Stateside Amphitheater – not a coincidence.
- Noon – 5p
- FREE Live Music from Dead Sessions Lite, and Rick Redington & The Luv
- Tie dyeing
- Food & Craft vendors
Are you a craft or food vendor and looking to participate? Drop Kevin a line at [email protected] or 802-327-2154 to reserve a spot. Vendor spots are limited and will be treated on a first-come/first-served basis.
